Designer Mommies and their Fancy Bicycle/Strollers
The TagaWhen I went to Manhattan recently, I noticed designer bags, designer shoes, and of course the latest in coutoure fashion, but what I wasn't really expecting were "Designer Mommies". I saw them all right- moms with designer outfits and fancy track shoes pushing their babies around the city with their hair more perfect than you could imagine.
The latest in Stroller/Bicycle Fashion lets those who can possibly afford the $3,000.00 Canadian price tag in today's economy become Designer Mommies with hot bods. Stylish and sleek, the latest "pram" (to use British-speak) is "roughly three times the weight of an average bicycle", which is maybe why it's also being billed as a health bicycle.
Wondering where the precious cargo gets to ride? On the very front of the bike as a "hood ornament". One vocal opponent to the bicycle/stroller has a strange perception of this bike, calling it "stroller porn", which I don't think means what it sounds like it means, but is still something that I don't want to touch with a ten-foot pole.
Despite the criticism the bike has received, it has still has received recognition for its "elegant" design. Personally, I have a hard time believing that a parent would choose style and design over function when it comes to precious cargo, but if I were really correct about that, about 100 designer baby shops would have gone out of business already.
